What Is the Surrogate Payment Schedule?
Your base pay is divided into 10 equal payments. You’ll start receiving these payments on a monthly basis once pregnancy is confirmed.
You’ll also receive a monthly stipend for out-of-pocket expenses once you’ve signed your surrogacy contracts and have begun the medical process. This will be paid until six to eight weeks after delivery.
How Surrogate Payments Work in Different Situations
Your surrogacy journey might bring unexpected situations, and we want you to feel confident about how your compensation works in each scenario.
- Carrying Multiples: If you're carrying twins or triplets, you'll receive extra compensation beyond your base pay, typically $5,000 per additional baby.
- Medical Situations: Bed rest, C-sections or other procedures also come with additional compensation, so you're never financially penalized for circumstances beyond your control.
- Miscarriage: If pregnancy loss occurs, you'll keep all the compensation you've earned up to that point. If you and the intended parents want to try again, payments resume once pregnancy is confirmed.
All of these protections are written into your contract from day one, so there are never any surprises about your compensation. We believe you should feel secure and supported no matter what happens during your journey.
Why You Deserve Your Surrogate Pay
Many surrogates struggle with wanting to provide this amazing gift but also being motivated by receiving financial rewards.
Take a deep breath and know that you deserve your surrogate pay. Surrogacy compensation is recognition of the commitment and generosity surrogates bring to the process. By providing this valuable service, you are making parenthood dreams come true for others, and you are entitled to fair compensation for your dedication.
“Surrogates are sometimes nervous or even awkward about asking questions, especially when it comes to compensation,” said Tasha, one of our surrogacy specialists and a former surrogate. “They're not sure if they should ask for something or if it's okay to bring it up. But we want that for them. We understand the sacrifice they're making, and compensation is about making the experience worth their while."
It's understandable that you want compensation for yourself and your family while bringing joy to others. You should embrace whaty you receive; it's a well-deserved acknowledgment of the life-changing impact you’re making on hopeful parents' lives.
How Surrogate Pay Can Change Your Life
You have a unique opportunity to make a positive impact not only on the lives of parents but also on your own family. Surrogate pay provides financial stability and the means to pursue various aspirations, whether it's securing a better future for your children, investing in education or improving your family’s quality of life.
"For me and my husband, it helped pay off a little bit of debt,” said Tasha. “He's in school getting his master's in business, so it also helped cover some of that. I've heard some surrogates say they use it as a financial buffer. They're already financially stable, but that extra compensation helps cover additional little things here and there."
By choosing to become a surrogate with our agency, you not only bring joy to others by helping them achieve their dream of parenthood but also create the potential for a brighter and more secure future for your own family.
