How to Become a Paid Surrogate in Anaheim

Step 1: Contact Us

Our easy-to-read and quick to fill out online application can be done in just a few minutes. Apply now to take the first step in creating a family.

Step 2: Complete the Screening Process

Our screening process has been designed with you in mind. Once you meet our basic requirements to become a surrogate, you’ll go through a smooth and straightforward screening.

The safety of you and the child are of the utmost importance and we follow American Society of Reproductive Medicine standards to make sure that’s the case.

Step 3: Find the Best Intended Parents

We have decades of experience with creating families which is why we can give you the tools to find the perfect match. The choice is ultimately yours but you can lean on our expertise to help you make one of the biggest decisions you’ll make as a surrogate.

After you find the best intended parents, you’ll both need separate legal representation to outline the surrogacy contract. This contract outlines key parts of the surrogacy journey, including what your surrogate compensation looks like.

Once you both sign the surrogacy contract, the medical side of the surrogacy contract can begin.

Step 4: Prepare for the Embryo Transfer

The Surrogacy Medical Process

From initial concerns to the joyous birth moment, Jade shares how our medical process helped transform her life.

The first step on the medical side of surrogacy involves taking fertility medications to prepare your body for pregnancy.

Mature eggs are then collected from the intended mother and fertilized using the intended father’s sperm, in a process called in vitro fertilization, to create an embryo. Once the embryo is ready, it will be transferred to your uterus.

Once a pregnancy is confirmed, you will start receiving your monthly surrogate payments.

Step 5:  Give the Gift of Parenthood

You are the missing piece to the puzzle to someone finally realizing their dreams of becoming a parent. That’s nothing short of heroic.

And it’s why we offer the best surrogate compensation. You’ll always be part of that family’s story.

FAQs About Surrogate Compensation in Anaheim

Why Should Surrogate Mothers Be Paid?

By becoming a surrogate, you’re making the dreams of intended parents come true. You’re giving them an opportunity they may have been dreaming about for years, not knowing if they might ever get the opportunity.

As the missing key that can open that door for them, you deserve the best pay possible.

How Much Do Surrogates Get Paid Monthly?

There is no set amount. That’s because your monthly pay will be determined by your base pay as a surrogate. Base pay is determined by:

  • Experience
  • Cost of living
  • Income

Base pay is paid out in 10 even monthly installments once a pregnancy has been confirmed.

How Much Do Surrogates Make for Twins?

You can make $10,000 for twins with our agency. Our surrogate pay rate, however, is not determined per baby. You are being paid for your time and effort as a surrogate, not for the baby.

You’ll receive $5,000 per multiple to recognize the additional physical and emotional effort that it takes to carry twins.

Do Surrogates Have to Pay Taxes in Anaheim?

Your surrogate pay is considered income, compensation for your service as a gestational carrier, which means your compensation could be taxed at the state and federal level.

You’ll receive a 1099 form during tax season from the third-party escrow service we partner with that distributes your monthly payments. Even if you don’t receive a 1099 form that doesn’t mean your income is tax-free. We recommend contacting a local tax accountant to ensure you are following federal law.

Do Surrogates Get Paid if They Miscarry?

Yes, you get paid if you miscarry. What happens next is usually outlined in your surrogate contract but you will receive payments up until the miscarriage occurs. Meaning if you are pregnant for eight months, you will be paid for eight months.

If you and the intended parents decide to try again, you will not be paid until a pregnancy is confirmed.

Do Surrogates Get Maternity Leave in Anaheim?

Yes, you get maternity leave in Anaheim thanks to the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). This ensures you have 12 weeks of unpaid leave. As part of our compensation package, we will reimburse you for any wages lost as a result of your surrogate pregnancy.

California also has Paid Family Leave.
